and you can actually see 2 of the effects of incest with the kids. it's generally a 1% chance for the child of 2 blue eyed parents to gave green eyes, and though we haven't seen the kids grandparents in color i'd guess one of them has green eyes so the recessive gene got activated taking it from 1/99 to 50/50 and resulted in 3/4 of the kid eyes being green which leads us to seeing that one has a genetic defect resulting in heterochromia
yeah it's a benign version of why inbreeding is dangerous over multiple generation (basically you're doubling any recessive genes meaning that if your family had a receive genetic disorder (one that only has a chance to emerges when both parents have the gene, well guess what...))
Depends how you define dangerous. We also used inbreeding to massively increase the muscle mass of livestock. Some of those traits, blue eyes, are desirable and are required for some breed of dogs to qualify as members of that breed for showing and breeding purposes. ( breed defining traits must "breed true" for 3 generations for the kennel club IIRC. )
What has to be understood is that incest doesn't make flaws. Incest gives existing flaws a chance to exhibit themselves... but it does not spontaneously cause them. The older a breeding pair gets, related or not, the more mutations have occurred to the sperm and ovum. I think your risks of several conditions are worse for two people having a child at 41 years old then it would be for two twenty year old siblings to make a child. Like autism, downs, so on and so forth. They term this a geriatric pregnancy due to that. This is also why parent->child incest is extremely bad compared to siblings. You're dealing with half the equation being 40 years old with parent->child. 40 years of round up weedkiller, backround radiation, and terrible lifestyles.

I'm more talking things like cystic fibrosis and other like. Genetic disorders that really only have a chance to manifest if both parents have the gene for it. Say a grand parent had such a disorder they'd pass the Genes onto their child who would pass it on to their children but none of them get sick because they only have 1 copy of the CF gene but say those grand kids have and incest baby, now that baby has 2 copies and gets to roll the dice of developing CF
I am pretty sure that their parents want to cover up that they are incest babies just as much as Rick and Rina. This lie is beneficial for everyone involved. Rick and Rina's parents get to pretend they have a normal family, and none of them have to worry about Luke and Lucy getting self esteem issues over them being genetic freaks, or them getting the idea that inbreeding is ok.
There is no winning in telling them they were inbred. You either have to tell them it's wrong and risk them thinking their existence is wrong, or you normalize it and risk spreading the behavior.
